Anyone from california that had to change a Cat Converter resently?
***FYI***
I just talked to a guy at Car Sounds Tech line. He told me that there are no approved cats that can be used in the state of california other then the ones from the dealer. He said that the ones that are apporved in CA are only approved for GMC Trucks and Vans. Not passanger cars like ours.
But I also talked to a couple different smog techs and none of then new anything about that. As far as they new if it said OBD-II then it was ok to pass for smog.
So what I found out is that according to the great state of california there are no available aftermarket cats that are approved for use on the 95-97 OBD-II Cars. Therefore, you have to go to the dealer.
Buyers beware most exhaust shops will sell you any OBD-II Cat just to get your money.

To correct the last post, 95 cars are OBD1. Both my muffler shop and my smog guy are prefectly happy with a Car Sound cat here in San Diego. My smog guy doesn't "look the other way", I had to show him the OE numbers for my blower, ignition, headers, etc.
