Yea man,I've got the same one...bought it about 3 months ago I guess.

It does give false alerts and I do get random *** LASER alerts as well, sometime even out where I live (the sticks) where it shouldnt even be going off Laser. So yea yours is normal, but when it comes down to it this sucker has a range I couldnt believe compared to my previous Cobra detectors.

P.S. - I usually leave mine on Autoscan, turning it to City mode takes away some of the false alerts but most of my alerts are CVS and grocery store auto-opening doors.

I had a Bell about 20 years ago (before laser) and the thing was awesome. When the laser tech came along I bought another one (535i I think), that was ten years ago. It was soooo bad, with sooo many false alerts it was unusable. I don't know where Bell went wrong - but it looks like they are no better now.

I still have to recommend Valentine1. Not as cutting edge, and a little long in the tooth, but it kicks azz on false alarms, and still is well within warning range performance of any new detector out there.
