Any tips on cleaning engine block?

My LS1 is all taken apart and mounted to my engine stand. I noticed there's some dirt and sludge in hard to reach places, i blew most of it out with compressed air. I also used brakes parts cleaner for most of the sludge i could see and that helped alot, i'm really trying to avoid hot tanking the block because it's not that bad. You guys have any tips from past experiences? How about the oil passages any ideas for that? Thanks.

That's how I cleaned mine. Then I dried and blew all the passages with compressed air.
