Not sure if this belongs here or in the stereo area but here goes.

Last week I noticed my antenna was sticking up about 2 inches out of the car after it had retracted so I pushed it down no biggie. For a few days after that it did not sound right when it went up/down. When it was in the up position it wasn't 100% up so I pulled it up 2 inches. The antenna no longer goes down and stays in the up position.

Is there a way to fix this or do I need to replace the antenna?

 

Mine did this as well.It would about 4 inches short of going completely down.So I took some wd40 and sprayed it on a paper shop towel and couldn't believe all the dirt that came off.Working ok now going about 1 month or so.I did have to straighten it out though because it was bent a little.Hope this helps.
