another firebird headlight question

I had a gear strip out in one of my headlight motors, so i had it unplugged for a while, then decided "eh, itl shut off in 5secs anyways" and plugged it back in.

Now I notice however, the headlights go up when i just switch it to parking lights, wich annoys me cause in times when i don't need headlights, i want to just run parking and fog lights. I am making sure i don't accidentally switch too far into "headlight on" mode. I know they didnt used to do that, what gives?

It's because of the stripped gear. Do a search for "headlight fix", and you'll find plenty of info.

Is there anyway to keep the headlight down when you want to just have the side markers with the gauges lit. Cuz when im at the track at night they want taillights on and i can do this but the headlights flip up and i was wondering if there was anyway around this.

If you turn just the parking lights on, your headlights should stay down. If they don't see the above link -particularly the "Free fix" area and this picture which shows the upper and lower stops (above and below the motor shaft). Make sure you haven't broken off a stop.
