Am I getting a good deal?
Am I getting a good deal?
Hey everyone I'm new to this forum and new to LT1s. I'll tell my story as quick as possible. I currently own a 1994 V6 Camaro and it needed major work to fix so I'm just going to ditch it and upgrade to an LT1.
I'm from Pennsylvania and PA requires you to pass state inspections. I haven't really found the car I wanted so I looked in Ohio. The problem is Ohio doesn't need emissions and the Camaro below passed ALL but ONE emissions check which it failed two months ago. The dealer lowered the price from $5,000 to $4,600. I bought the Carfax history report and everything was fine except for the minor accident and the failed inspection. The accident wasn't with another vehicle though, the car was claimed to go off the road giving minor damage. Is there any bad reason for the price drop or was it dropped because no one was buying it? My buddy looked at the report and said it looks good on paper but who knows. The dealer said he lowered the price to spark interest. Here's the link below that takes you directly to the car: (BTW it only has 90,000 miles on it) Thanks for the help and sorry if this doesn't go here.

$400 is not much of a price drop. I would say offer then $3500 and see what they say. Not to undervalue the car, but that should be a good price. Plan on spending some money to make it pass emissions. I would ask to take it to a shop to see what is needed on in. It can be a simple fix or a major fix that might cost you more than the purchase price.
90K is good mileage. Check the common problems like oil leaks ect. I spent over $2k chasing oil leaks on mine, with about the same mileage, which in the end was worth it to me, but I got the car pretty cheap as the salesman had no idea what he was doing.
