I am the second owner of a 1995 Z28. Lately, sometimes when I use the key fob to unlock the door, the anti-theft red dash light stars to flash, as do my tail lights and front parking lights.When I insert my key,the starter will not crank the engine over. When it does this, I unhook the neg bat terminal, then all is normal after I reconnect the terminal. Until , of course, the next episode. Last week, my son said that as a truck drove by our house, the door locks and parking lights started off again.It was unlocked in the garage,but now is locked with the security light flashing.
This is not how the factory VATS system is supposed to work, is it?
The car came with an alarm key fob also, but nothing happens when I push the button, it just flashes the fob light.I don't see any extra wiring or electrical contacts anywhere around the doors, so I do not know if I have a wayward alarm , or no alarm but a crazy VATS. What do you think?
