Airbag light appeared on the dash today

Camaro decided to throw a airbag light on the way home from work. Is there a troubleshooting procedure or code scanner that will give me more details? Havent tried pulling the codes with the laptop yet. Any ideas? Thanks!

Lord willing, when I get home I'll try to find what the factory manual says about troubleshooting my '96. Hopefully, others will chime in.....

Shoebox's site might have something on the Air Bag system.

According to the 93 service manual, you can flash the trouble codes for the SIR (airbag) module. Attached is a page showing the procedure.

Wow...that is nice. I didn't know full scans of these manuals were around. Bet that took some time.
