I have an air/fuel mixture gauge at eye level mounted near the door. I got into an accident and it stopped working. Where should I look, and how can I fix it?

Also, I bought this car used, what kind of mod(s) does something like this usually indicate?

If it's not working check the ground wire. There is only 3 wire one might of broke loose.
