Go to your local chevrolet dealer and ask them who they go through.

Re: Aftermarket Warranty?

Honestly I would avoid going through a third party for a warranty. They will fight you tooth and nail on every claim. Well maybe not all of them, but the one I had on my mustang sure did. My mustang had an engine problem that required a rebuild, they denied the claim saying the car was already in that condition when I bought it (not true). Two years and a lawsuit later they settled with us for $50k (with the lawyer taking $32k). It was a big hassle, I'd say save your money and keep a stash for any repairs that might be needed. Another thing with aftermarket warranties is that they can have clauses saying they can put used parts into your vehicle for repairs, so even if they do repair it, it's not going to be new. Fix repairs on your own so you have the peace of mind knowing what is going into your car.

You can also get warranties through a bank or credit union. You could also ask them. Read carefully though. On manuals, they may not cover clutches. Just be sure you know what they will and will not cover.

You'll pay quite a premium to have a warrenty on a 1999........that a large liability for the insureing company.

Keep your money. Those warranty companies stay in business by taking your money and rarely paying out. You're basically betting that you'll break your car enough to make it worth it. They're betting you won't and just like Vegas, the house always wins.

Re: Aftermarket Warranty?

I can tell you after being a service advisor at dealerships for 10 years, on a 7 year old car they will find a way to not fix your car.

Excuses... pre-exhisting conditon, abuse, not a covered item, owner needs to provide maintenance records (which you dont have since car was bought used) etc...

All the good warranty companies that I dealt with (and there are some out there) never sell a contract on a vehicle over 5 years old.
