I Am Right In The Middle Of Putting Together A 86 Z28. Basically Started At The Bottom And Replaced Everthing On My Way Up, Built A 383, Had My T5 Built Up A Little,new Seats,carpet.... Want A Really Nice Car In The End. I Want To Paint This Car Hugger Orange. My Question Is, Would It Be Better To Paint The Underhood Area The Same Color As The Car Or Paint It Black As I Intended To Do But A Few Of My Friends Said It Would Look Tacky. Your Opinion(s) Would Be Greatly Appreciated.

i would paint it the same color as the car...it would look much more professional

 

I also would paint the engine bay the same color as the rest of the car. Good luck with your project, dont lose focus, and you will have yourself one sweet ride pretty soon.

 

Here is another vote for making the engine bay the same color as the rest of the car.

Having it painted black would look trashy.
