AC wiring question, 95 f body

Doing a swap into an rx7 and wanted to get some other thoughts on the AC wiring. The 95 and back lt1 diagrams that I have show a split off the clutch request wire(hot with ign on) being attached to a diode which is then grounded. But there is no amperage listed in the diagrams I have. Then on 96 and up lt1's it shows 1 amp.

I figure this is used as a saftey device to prevent too much current going thru the AC compressor, but how much is it needed? I have seen aftermarket AC systems that do not use them, as well as other OEM that do not. I don't want to omit it if it will cause problems, just having trouble identifying which one I need. i picked up a 12v diode but it is only 21ma, not 1a. Any help appreciated.

Never mind, I found the original section of harness that had the diode in it.
