AC wire name/part #

Hello all, what is the name or part # for the wire that I was told goes from the alternator and is for operating the A/C.

I know this cause the bozos at GM dealer wanted to charge me to replace it during the winter and I declined, thanks

I don't know of any wire that goes from the alternator to the a/c. Both the alt and a/c compressor wires come out of the same harness, though.

Thanks shoebox. Here is all I know. I got a brand new alternator Feb. 06. When the summer came, I had only hot air coming from the A/C. I took it to the GM dealer to see what was the problem with it, of course they replaced the Alt. and typical Mr. Goodwrench fashion, didn't plug in or replace the wire that was needed to run the A/C. Then after that they wanted to know if I wanted a appt. to have this wire put on as they had it in stock blah blah and I dealt with lack of A/C by having the T-tops removed every day that wasn't raining. Thanks for listening.

So you took it to the dealer for a/c problems and they replaced the alternator and did not work on the a/c? Why can't the connector to the compressor just be plugged in? Am I missing something?
