AC Low Pressure Switch

Anybody know where this is on a 96. I have the schematics off shbox but i dont see a low pressure switch where the schematic shows it. Do i need to be underneath the car to find it. We filled my ac today and the guy who done it said it looked like the low pressure switch might not be working right.

That was the one that i found, im assuming it is the high pressure switch. Since it is a 3 wire sensor is it a high and low pressure sesor. I cant see another sesor.

I don't think there is one on the low pressure side on a 1996.

The schematic only shows one switch, labeled the AC Refrigerent Switch.

The reason im trying to find the LPS is that the AC never seems to cycle off. Is that a function of the 3 wire switch on tthe high pressure side. If it is how does it check the pressure on the low pressure side. The ac is blowing nice and cold but the guy who done it said that if i did not cycle the compressor off myself it could possibly cause the ac to freeze up. I am by no means an ac guy but does this sound right or does this just not apply to the 96.

Lightbulb High/Low Pressure Switch

Well here is the end all answer on the Camaro high/low pressure switch. It doesnt work that way. GM decided to use a thermal expansion valve on these cars. This means the AC doesn't cycle, it runs constantly. Not the best design concept and possibly another Horse Power leecher. That may be why they do not do that design anymore. Thanks Jerry's AC in Gainesville Florida for that answer . He said put in 2 lbs of freon and let-r-ride. If that is too much freon you will know becasue your AC will act strange and start freezing up. If that starts happening let some juice out and try it again. im running 2.5 lbs right now becasue we were trying to go by what the freon pressures were. Hope this helps.

Thermal Expansion Valve=no high/low switch=crappy design
