AC help, dryer canister is hot to the touch!!

AC help, dryer canister is hot to the touch!!

ok I changed my expansion valve and started filling the system.the AC is still cycling on and off and not blowing coldand will only take about one can.. also the dryer reciever canister is HOT!!.. any ideas what it could be?? could the dryer canister be cloged..

Was the system evacuated? It's pretty much a must when you open the system to replace parts.

I did not have it evacuated, but this is the same thing it was doing before I even broke the system open.. the mechanic said that I had a cloged expansion valve becuase every time the compressor kicks the high side presure goes off the chart and it kicks right back off.. well now I have replaced the expansion valve and its doing the same damn thing.. and from what I read the only other thing that can really clog is the drier canister..
