AC delete?

Since I'm putting a new radiator in I figured it would be a good time to delete my ac. I have the condensor, compressor and all of the lines out.Now I want to take the rest of it out by the firewall but it appears I will have a hole there If I take all of that other stuff out.

I read in another thread from searching about a ac delete box that you put there, Does anybody have any more information on this.

Re: AC delete?

how complicated/expensive would an ac delete be in all? my ac doesn't work currently and i dont think it would be very cheap to get it recharged.

Re: AC delete?

I bought the pulley from someone on this board for $32 shipped. Just put up a wanted ad or keep an eye out in the for sale section(these pulleys usually sell really quick).

Re: AC delete?

The pulley is a GM part. Use the source linked on the "Where to Buy Your GM Parts" page on Shoebox's Tech Pages:

http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#Dal_and_Jason

You will pay approx 1/2 of that $60 list price, plus reasonable shipping from those two sources.

thats like amputating your legs because you stubbed your toe. You can recharge your AC for under $30.

Re: AC delete?

I've decided to take out my whole HVAC system since I don't drive it in the winter and I'll shed about 70 pounds. I'll take some pictures of it and let you guys know how it went.
