ABS Light and Cruise Control problem
For awhile now my cruise has been acting funny. When you set the cruise and let off the gas, the speed will keep dropping down past whatever speed it was set at, then when you touch the gas pedal it will start to accelerate on its own again. It wont maintain the speed unless your going down hill or on a flat grade. Not sure what to think?
And recently my ABS INOP light has come on, my brakes work fine and i havent noticed anything different. I did just change the bulbs in my 3rd brake light tho.

Re: ABS Light and Cruise Control problem
for the abs i bet doing about 30 if you slam the brakes the tires will lock up hard. what were you doing when the light first came on? does the hand brake light stay lit too?
Re: ABS Light and Cruise Control problem
For the ABS light I would probably try grinding the grounds to see if that's causing the light. With the cruise control maybe check and make sure that the black plastic piece that slides onto the throttle body bracket is on there correctly.
Hope this helps, Mike

Also the normal Brake light is always on, since i noticed the fluid was low, and found one of the calipers was leaking, tightened it up, refilled the fluid and havent had any trouble, but the light stays on heh. Not sure how to reset it or whatever.
Re: ABS Light and Cruise Control problem
was the sound from the back? really sounds like you have an issue with a rear speed sensor.
you can try to bleed the brakes, but i dont see that stopping the light. when was the last time you changed the rear oil? check the rear diffy speed sensor, right on top of the pumpkin (if you have 3 channel abs) if the sensor looks goods, get it up on stands, take the cover off, and inspect the speed ring. look for cracks and missing teeth. spin one wheel and watch the ring.

Re: ABS Light and Cruise Control problem
ten bolts suck. check to see what kind of abs you have 1st. if there is a sensor on the pumpkin (top) then do what i said above, if not, then you have 4 channel abs, and may only need to replace a wheel sensor.
Re: ABS Light and Cruise Control problem
I had the same problem. Have you done any electrical work lately? After checking everything out, I found that my ground had become loose. (The one right next to that red plastic junction box under the hood next to the battery.) Tightened the nut and cruise worked fine and ABS light never came back on. Hope it's that easy for you.
Re: ABS Light and Cruise Control problem
I suggest you remove the ground post (next to the red positive box) scrape away the paint to get a good ground and re-install the ground stud. This fixed the problem on my friend's 95 Z28.
