A4=4 speed automatic (3 sp + Overdrive). IOW, the stock automatic transmission.

The 94 was also the first yr. for the 4l60e(electronic) which was better than the 4l60 in 93,s.You can also see if you have Gu5 rear axle w 3.23.The combo of this ratio and the 4l60e is a great pkg.Welcome to 94 ownership.

4l60 or 4l60e?

So there IS a 4L60 AND a 4L60E?
I had a guy at a salvage-yard tell me this (specifically about a '93 Z71 PU), but then another guy (at a transmission-shop) said they were ALL 4L60Es???
Anyone know?

Okay!
So, was the first 4L60 the same thing as a 700R4? I know that they are (still) basically the same & many parts interchange on them...(I actually used a 700R4 tail-housing on my 4L60E when I broke mine off rodding it!)

The 700R4 and 4L60 are differentiated by a few parts, but mostly the same.
