headlights wont work!

im getting no power to the connector, the fuses are good and the headlights are good. we checked to see if the headlights worked by running two peices of wire prom - and + side of the battery. what should we check next?

Can you explain this more? I'm not following...

 

I think he means if you run 12V directly to the lights, they work. But, they don't work if you turn on the switch in the car.
