98 Z Door Hinge adjustment

On my 98 Z the drivers door is sagging. I want the door to stop rubbing the body and smacking the fiberglass against the striker bar. I understand i probably need to loosen the bolts that hold the hinges to the body. I have also searched and seen to loosen bottom hinge more than top and just raise corner of door up. My questions are.....

Whats the best way to get to the bolts? Through the wheel well or......

Also whats best to use a ratchet and socket or flat wrench?

Thanks so much

Before you try adjusting it, check to see if the door is cracked. Mine was and that resulted in the same symptoms you have. If it is, the crack can be repaired with fiberglass and epoxy.

I found the best wrench to use was a 12-point offset 13mm (1/2") closed end wrench. The only one in my toolbox that worked was an old one from Montgomery Wards ;-) I was able to loosen them through the hinge opening.

Wow thank you so much for the detailed response. I'll check for any cracks then I'll search the box for an offset wrench to loosen bolts without removing things.
