98 TA- what gears does it have?

I am looking at a 1998 Trans Am A4, and was wondering......what gear ratios were available in 1998? Was the 2.73 still being produced, or were all the auto cars 3.42 by then? Thanks in advance!

auto or stick? sticks have 3.42s, same as previous years.

EDIT: sorry didn't notice you did specify, yeh I think autos used the same gear ratio.

autos either had 2.73s or 3.23s

only the M6s got the 3.42s

if it has a steel driveshaft it has the 2.73s...i think that is an easy way to tell

Yeah the RPO codes are on the drivers door in the door jam.

GU2 = 2.73
GU5 = 3.23
GU6 = 3.42
