'97 Z28 air pump/smog pump on a '93 Z28? '97 Z28 owners help!

OK, my '93 Z28 smog pump is bad, blew the fuse threw a code. I got a pump
off a '97 Z28, but its got a funky pig tail on it with a vacuum switch and two
vacuum lines coming off it I have NO idea where they go. I need the pump to
pass smog, so dont suggest I remove it. Anyone seen these extra hoses? It
shows online that the 93 pump is different than the 94-97. But I checked our
'94 Firebird parts car and its got the same pump as the '93. I can not use the
pump off the parts car, as that engine is going into a '78 that needs to stay a
legal car also. I assume I can use the '97 pump IF I hook up the vacuum to
the correct place. I can not find anything online showing this pigtail.

Anyone have a '97 Z28?

The air pump connections, both electrical and vacuum, changed over the years. Shoebox has the diagram for the recall components (95-97), which complicate it even more. Not sure how the different location of the pump and different routing of the lines on the 93's affects the install.

Any way to just ignore/remove the extra stuff and plug the AIR pump in at the main electrical connector? Seems that as long as the hose connections were in the same place, you would be ok. I know that 93s are mounted on the frame rail, instead of on the engine.

I dont think that I can ignore the extra connections. Looking at the diagram
I dont think I can fool it either. My engine is "missing" critical items that are
needed to make the pump work. I believe that extra vacuum valve replaces
the internal soleniod to stop the pump in case of a backfire. I think I will have
to return the pump and look for another.
