97+ Taillight Conversion
I want to replace the taillights in my 1995 Camaro with the tri-colored ones on the '97 and newer models. Before I start though, I want to ask anyone who has done this what is involved. Is there any rewiring or playing with the electronics, or is it simply plug & play? Any help would be appreciated!

Nope sorry it isn't that easy. The 93-96 used the brake lights for the turn signals but the 97-02 one's won't. All you have to do is run a wire from under your dash to the 97+ wiring harness. Here is a web site telling you how. (its for the export taillights, but it is the same as the 97+ tail lights

I did this mod, It doesnt take very long at all, so dont get scared of the wiring.

Re: 97+ Taillight Conversion
is there a way to get the 93-96 wire harness to work with the 97 up tail lights. I messed around with the wiring but ended up just taking out the bulb that would good in the orange part of the 97 and up and my turn signal is red with the brake light. Is there a way I can run wires so I can have it running right with out the 97 and up harness?
Re: 97+ Taillight Conversion
It can't work right with the early harness because the early cars brake and turn signal share the same bulb. This is not the same on the later cars wherre the brake and turn signals are seperate bulbs. There is also no brake only signal going to the rear lights.
Just replace the harness and run a wire from the brake light switch to the rear lights.
