NOT all 2.73 cars are limited to 115mph it was dependant of what the Tire option was on each car. My old `94 Formula A4/2.73's came with 245/50 GSC tires and a 155 speedo. If a car had Eagle GA's in a 235/55 size it would have a different speedo and a Limiter
I could also manually hit 1st gear in that car aswell even though it didn't have a 1st gear detent.

^I find that very hard to believe-unless it was an old school 1st gen-he let you win.

Regarding you and yer bud, it'll be a close-match, but a vert is a bit heavier, stick doesn't make up for that. My money would be on you for this race, but against a Lightning you don't stand a chance.

regardless of the cam the fact that he has intake and exhaust is what is going to decide the race. If you dont win something is very wrong.

Are you kidding? a cam is way more important than a friggin cold-air and cat-back. The 2 combined might get you 10 extra WHP, big deal.

Do you have a cam???? It's in your sig but you said nothing about it. If you have what's in your sig and a 2.73 geared A4, it could be real close if he can learn to launch with minimal tire spin.

Just courious, does your speedo stop at 115mph? The 2.73 cars were speed limited to 115mph (or something close to that). If that's what you have, all he has to do is go faster than that and you loose.

Re'

It simply is true. I have done this my self on 2 of my own cars and 4 other cars that belong to friends.

My 94 was the first then my 97.

As well as my buddys 96 and a few other of my friends cars.

Another thing, 2:73 cars where not limited to 115. Sounds like your level of knowledge is very low. Please refrain from posting innacurate information that you are not 100% sure of. Ignorance spreads like a disease.

The speed governed cars came from factory tires. If the car came without z rated tireds they restricted the speed due to the fact that a tired thats no speed rated can explode over 115 mPH from the heat created.

Yeah you have intake, exhaust and a cam you should take him. Without the cam it'll be a drivers race.
