96 Z-28 tailights in a 99?

Does anybody know if a set of tailights from a 96 Z-28 will bolt in to a 99 Z-28?

I did it with some slight wiring harness modifications, and a little dremel work. NBM looks so much better with the old style tail lights. Amber is bad on a dark car.

What kind of wiring harness work did you have to do?

Yeah, I have seen them interchanged and be a direct fit on many trans ams/firebirds. I am sure some modification would have to be done for the turn signals to work right on the different tailights for a camaro though.

I have asked the same question and have been told that the 93-96 lights will work on a 97-02 car without any modifications. All bulbs plug directly into the holes. However, they do not light the same way. For the brakes only the one light will shine, so only the outer half of the lens will shine. For the turn signal, only one light will activate, the inner light. Reverse lights work normal. Despite this quirk, you should be street legal without any problems.
