96 Camaro courtesy lights
96 Camaro courtesy lights
My car is all stock. But interior lights don't work. With out 20 amp fuse I could hear a relay/timer clicking about every 30 seconds. I traced it to and discovered the BCM. Could see a burnt spot on the circuit card. Bought a cheap BCM on eBay and from that one I deduced that all I needed was to solder a wire over the burnt trace on the circuit card. Did that and the lights worked.
But the fuse blew again after awhile. Now if there is a short somewhere I need a hint of where to start looking.
My car does not have power door locks, mirrors, or windows. Even has cheap radio.
I used to have a habit of leaving the doors open and letting the timer shut off the courtesy lights. Think I over stressed the system.
Any hints? Do I replace the BCM? The eBay bought BCM was made for a newer AT Camaro. It does not look exactly the same as mine. It has a wire that almost looks like an antennae based on the length. Is that the remote door lock antennae?
I just put a lot of work in the old car and want it to work 100%. You kind of start loving the thing after putting a lot of work in it.
