94 Glove Box Latch

My latch has come off of my glove box. It doesn't appear to be broken but I can not figure out how to put it back on. The glove box is closed and I am not sure how to open it now that the latch has come off. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Re: 94 Glove Box Latch

You will probably need to remove the 4 screws along the bottom hinge and swing the entire glove box forward. I'm sure you can then move the box downward and back to come off the hooking mechanism that keeps it shut.

You will need to pull the knee bolster cover down before you can get to the screws holding the hinge. It is attached with those plastic push center type fasteners. There are 3 or 4 of them holding the bolster in place. You only need to pull the cover down and not completely off.

Look in the for sale section or seach around on ebay. There are usually some for sale in both places.

Re: 94 Glove Box Latch

Ok, I got the box open and I got the latch removed. I was able to put the latch handle back in, but I am not sure if it's in right. This was too easy. Does the latch handle just slide in or am I missing something. It really doesn't appear to do anything that I can tell. Does anyone know how this thing works. I am afraid to put it back in the door and close it without making sure I have put it in right.
