I recently got a 94 firebird from my mother. it's in great shape but there's a couple things i want to upgrade. My question is about adding keyless entry. It has a slight security issue I've seen is at least semi-common. Can cause it to not turn over engine. I've worked around that. But I've noticed after being off for a spell the door lock switches don't work until the door is physically opened. I'm assuming this is a security measure, and it would hinder the possibility of just buying a universal keyless entry system. Does anyone listening have any experience with this? Thanks ahead of time for any help.

 

Have you checked the service parts label for RPO code “AU0”? That would indicate the car was equipped with the optional keyless entry.

 

No i just assumed it didn't but... Thanks I'll check when i get home.
