93' Speedometer update for gears

OKay, I know the speedometer must be configured to match the set of of Rear End gears so that the right MPH and what not function correctly.

I would be upgrading from 2.73's to 3.42's prolly and Im just curious to know whether or not I can just get my PCM burned via PCMFORLESS and that will take care of it fully, or would I actually need to swap out some gears or something in the tranny or speedo to match up with the new rear end gears.

I know 94+ could just use hypertech, but what about 93's?? It would be great if I can just have PCMforless tune it correctly and all will be well....please anyone that knows.

I know you have to switch something in the tranny, But having a m6, I have no experience with this. Alvin can't re-calibrate the speedo for gears, at least not with an m6, but I don't think he can with an auto either.
