Pretty much sure they are one and the same, but can anyone confirm if indeed the 700R4 and 4L60E pans are the same??

Re: 700R/4L60E pan

i put a 700r4 aftermarket polished aluminum pan on my 4l60e no problem. keep your stock pan bolts. the new ones that came with the pan looked real pretty but the thread was different. pics in the sig.

I believe I got the same pan on ebay waiting to install..
Looks like a nice piece..
The bolts that came with that pan don't fit[stainless bolts?]
Nice to have a drain plug, too..
Also, what did you do about the filter [I believe a spacer is needed for a deeper pan, right?] It didn't come with a spacer, and I don't know what kind/length, or where to GET one that'll fit?
Do you know how much deeper the pan is than stock?

i got it for 30 bucks. i dont know how they sold it so cheap. i also did a shift kit (transgo) at the same time. to make up for the deeper pan i put in more fluid. hopefully this isn't hurting anything. it runs great and the temp stays the same (190 ish) with no fluid cooler. it took 12 quarts total when warmed up.

Re: 700R/4L60E pan

Thanks for the reply..
Didn't you need some sort of 'filter spacer' for the deeper pan?
I am under the impression this is needed?[to make sure that the filter doesnt 'fall off'?]
Thanks again!
Charlie

You might try the filter used with the "Silverado" (deep truck pan) that is listed on my parts page. Not sure how the depth of that pan and yours compares.

Re: 700R/4L60E pan

You get what I mean about the filter tho, right?
And yes, I thought about the Silverado filter[in fact, was going to get the Silverado pan and filter, but this cast aluminum was too cheap to pass up..lol]
That's one reason I haven't put the pan on.. it didn't come with a 'spacer', or a filter..
Guess I have to get under there and measure the depth difference, then see about a filter, [or spacer.. I believe B&M etc have spacers for their deep pans..]
If anyone has a Silverado pan/filter, and can measure the difference between that one, and a stock one, that would be very helpful!..
Thanks Rob!
