I am in the middle of rebuilding a recently acquired LT1. Being a lower middle class dad this is DEFINITELY a budget build. Traded a crossbow for the engine, that was FI. Traded a torpedo heater for a SBC Holley street dominator intake, that I later found out doesn't bolt up, so I traded it for the "bowtie" performance LT1 intake that's like $269 on summit racing. Did some more trading for a Holley 750 cfm with the vacuum secondary. So having said all that, now to the
QUESTIONS:
I am doing away with the optispark and am getting the plate to block the hole off. But do I have to change the timing cover?
I have ordered an HEI distributor , the intake already has the hole for it, but will it work with the internal gear in my motor?
Can I use the stock, high pressure , in tank fuel pump that's already in my car if I install a pressure regulator to take it down to 6lbs?
Will this thing fit under my stock hood? Although I plan on ordering a cowl hood, if I decide to swap before I have it, will it fit?
This is my first engine swap EVER, so any advice is welcome, sorry if this post is in the wrong spot , I'm new lol and is there anything I haven't mentioned that is important that I'm overlooking?

Re: 3rd Gen '91 3.1 V6 RS, Swap to Carbed '95 5.7 LT1
“Drivetrain” forum if for the parts behind the engine - clutch, converter, tranny, rear axle. Since this has so many different elements, let's move this to “General 67-02 F-Body Tech” forum.

Sorry and thanks for moving it to the right spot. Also a couple questions I forgot to ask, will my stock 700r4 trans work with the LT1 and the rear end with stock gears will be ok as well?
