Question Are 3rd(fuel injected) and 4gen fuel pumps the same?

Are ALL V8 fuel injected 3rd gen fuel pumps the same? And will they work(interchange) in an LT1 car?

all third gen pumps are not the same, there were TBI pumps(low PSI), and TPI/V6(MPI) pumps(high PSI)

and the pump alone should be able to be made to fit in the LT1 bucket, but no, not a direct fit

and the sender/FPM will not fit directly either

So TPI(305/350) would work with an LT1, but what years MPI V6's?

Thumbs up Re: Are 3rd(fuel injected) and 4gen fuel pumps the same?

Cool thanks. How about other GM cars with EFI, MPI and SFI? Would they be high pressure as well? Anything except TBI.

Yes the pressure is the same, but if your just running a stock engine that is ok, however the GPH (Gallons per Hour, know as volume of fuel moved) for an V8 over a 4 or 6 cyl With mods would be more (ie a 4.3ltr S-10 Truck Vortec engine might run a 50psi pump but only need 155gph pump vs a LS6 50PSI 255GPH Pump). The MPFI, TPI, EFI, LT1, LS1 ECHOTECH NORTHSTAR, 4CYL, 6CYL and 8 CYL all run about the same pressure now days, in other words if it has an injector per cylinder....
