2002 Firebird

So my friend wrecked his newish (2001-2002) eclipse and is lookin at an 02 v6 Firebird. Its a dark blue, 5 spd, t-tops, with 56,XXX on the odometer. The dealer is asking 9800. Is it a good deal?

The blue book puts it in the 12K range for the suggested retail value for a dealer so the price is good. Its just up to him if he will be 100% satisfied with a six cylinder car.

We took it for a drive eariler and he loved it, and he'd be perfectly content w/ a v6 because his eclipse was only 4 clyinder. thanks.

for the money, he MIGHT be able to get a LS1 around there through a private seller. Tell him to look into that before he makes any commitments, because he will eventually get tired of the power of the v6

I'm pretty sure he could, but I think he said he only wants a reliable car that has decent power and gets decent gas mileage. I'll let him know that though.

Just because you buy a car from a stealership, that doesn't mean it will be any more reliable than a car you purchase from a private seller. All those idiots do is clean the car up that a private seller sold to them and jack the price up

Also, you can get almost 30 highway mpg with a 2002 Firebird that has the LS1.

On the highway it gets that much, but in the city they usually dip into the teens. You can maintain pretty good mileage with the 3.8 and still have enough power to be content with.
