2001 Camaro CD Changer

Have a 12 disc cdchanger

it's really strict, it seems
it'll have trouble reading a CD
so i take the CD out, and put it back in, and it'll read it

if i put a new CD in, keeping the first one, it'll sometimes have problems reading it, and says ERROR and won't let me play either CD.. so i take them out and put them back in, and boom it reads it..

Now, idon't actually change anything about the CDs or anything, i just put the cartridge back in, and it fixes it, most of the time.

Is there some sort of key sequence i can hit on the radio to have it RESCAN the cds when it errors? Instead of having to take out the cartridge and put it back in...

Hitting the AUX button doesn't do anything, when the CD says there's an error. anyway to rescan without getting out of the car?

Mine does the same thing. I think delco just can't make a decent changer. Now I just use the iPod.

Re: 2001 Camaro CD Changer

mine use to do that in my previous '97 Z28. i got one of those cd cleaners and cleaned it and then used the "air in a can" stuff you can buy and sprayed out the changer with the cartridge out. it helped a lot! dont know if that was the problem, but i kept it clean after that and never had another problem.
