Look on your driver's side door jamb or in your glove box(should be one of those 2 places) for a sticker with a load of numbers. Look for GUx, which is the rear axle ratio.

Also I believe if it has a "1" on the shifter its a 3.23 car and if not it has 2.73's....

anyways, the only way to be sure is to open up the rear differental.

 

if you are an a4, id bet on the 2.73's.

 

All the A4 LS1 cars can select first gear. Sometimes the RPO codes can lie too - mine was originally a 2.73 car and carries the GU2 code on the door.
