1996 lt1 not starting when hot

I have a 1996 z lt1. Starts fine when cold, but when it warms up over 180, it tries to start, but then dies and then it just cranks like it is out of gas. PLEASE HELP

Since nobody chimed in yet,I will go with leaking injectors flooding.Could be the coolant sensor on the radiator as well.(Might change the gas filter though first).Do the cheap stuff first.My02.I've seen this here on this board before, just can't remember what the fix was.

It would be the coolant temp sensor on the water pump. The coolant level sensor on the radiator does not have anything to do with whether the engine starts.

Thanks much, replaced the coolant temp sensor. Now sometimes it starts warm and not other times. I think this is good, at least it starts better than before. But I would like it to start every time. Any other suggestions. I will be pulling the fuel pressure soon. I also did replace the oil level sensor too.

Leave the car over night one day to cool off. Start it in the AM and run it till it shuts off or till temp goes too high for your taste.

But before all these go to AutoZone and rent a laser temp meter unless you already have one.

After the car runs at idle for 30min to reach its operating temp but it has to be at least a hr so that the exhaust heats up. Use the laser gun and check temp every foot from tail pipes to down pipe. Don't forget to write them down.

When done shut the car off and check your numbers. if there is a heat spike of 10-20 degrees somewhere around your muffler or cat that either one could have collapsed and you need to replace it. I had this happen to me a long time ago where my catalytic converter collapsed and the car would start good when cool but that it would overheat and shut off. Than I'd have to sit for a hr for it too cool to drive again and when driving it feels like the car wants to die, no power, nothin...
