1996 camaro keyless entry question

How do I find out if I have keyless entry on my car? I bought the car but it did not come with a remote. I have been looking at buying a remote and getting it programmed if I have the keyless entry system already on my car.

On my 95 Z the RPO code sticker in the glove box has code AU0, which is keyless entry, pretty sure it is the same code on your 96 if it is equipped with it.

You could check the RPO code on the driver side door and see if it came with it from the factory, I think it is AU0. You can buy a new transmitter for about $30 and section 2 of the owners manual tells how to program it. I'm sure someone else has a better way like where to look for the remote receiver etc.

Thanks a lot, I will check it out! Do you think the remotes that they sell on eBay will work if I do have the code?

well, one way to see if the reciever is there
check the passenger kick panel (basically, right before the door, there is a small panel between the door and the underdash vents)
the receiver will be in that area if there is one
