1995 radiator fan not turning on
My car is the 3.4L V6, and its fan will not turn on. I have changed the thermostat, replaced radiator fluid. But when I turn on the AC in my car the fan still won't start. The car will warm up and not stop heating up causing the engine to over heat. I have also checked the oil at running temp. Doesn't appear to be a blown head gasket. I have also checked the switch next to the thermostat and it appears to be working. been trying to fix for three months now at a total loss.

Re: 1995 radiator fan not turning on
YOU NEED TO INCLUDE COMPLETE INFO ABOUT YOUR CAR - A V6 FAN SYSTEM IS DIFFERENT THAN THE V8 FAN SYSTEM, IN SOME RESPECTS.
V8 ANSWER:
Could be several things:
-Burned out fusible linke at the red "+" box near the battery.
-Coolant temp sensor in the water pump is not accurate
-Faulty fan relays - these will set a code
Scanning for codes is always a good idea, but that can be a problem with your 95 and it's OBD-1 PCM coupled with the 16-pin OBD-2 style ALDL connector. Better bet is a scan log, run with Scan9495. Free download in the link. You will need to build a cable as described in the thread, or buy a ready-made cable from Red Devil River or ALDLCables, also described in the thread.

There are status indicators for the fan relays (low speed; high speed), and you can read the exact temperature the CLT sensor it providing to the PCM.
What will not be shown in the data log is whether the fusible link that supplies +12V power directly to the fans (controlled by the relays) is blown. Take a look at the wiring diagram on Shoebox's site. Note that your 95 is "late" production.... GM just copied the 95 wiring diagram from the 94 manual, and 95's are all "late" production.

See if you have 12V at the pins for the red wire on relays #1 and #2.
