1993 Idle issues

Will not having the AIT wire hooked to the sensor cause idle problems? Also I have longtube headers installed but no cat back. I cant install the O2 sensors until I get it to a exhaust shop. Will not having the O2 sensors connected cause idling problems? Right now the idle jumps from 1k to 1500. I think I have this issue just about nipped but I want to be sure.

Re: 1993 Idle issues

Th IAT sensor is critical to the speed-density system. Without the temperature, the ECM can't do the "density" part of the air/fuel calculation. The ECM could correct for errors in the A/F calculation, but not without the O2 sensors hooked up. Likely to cause an idle problem.
