1981 camaro z28

I just bought a 1981 camaro z28 with a 350 and auto trans, the guy that owned ut before me cut some wires to bypass the emissions system. Need totally new interior and paint yook a look at the engine and it looks farily new. spent 1800 on the car and wondering if im making a huge mistake, and should i just take the emissions system out?

Emissions are dumb. I spent a good three hours gutting the cats on a perfectly good LS1 Trans Am.

The Camaro came without cats and will never have 'em. They don't care on an old car as far as inspection goes. (Well, the shady places don't.)

If you don't have regulations in your part of the state or if you can get antique vehicle plates, then it wouldn't hurt to remove them since it sounds like they are butchered up already. For 1800 bucks, it sounds like you got yourself a nice little fixer upper. Good luck.
