looking at a 02 ss slp, 6spd how rare are those cars? its pushing 140k but under for sale for under 8grand. heard they are rated at 345hp. any unusual problems with that year or ls1s with that kind of milage in particular? any thoughts or comments would be appreciated

I wouldn't call it particularly rare, but then again it's not a beige Toyota Camry either.

I can't speak specifically for high mileage LS1 problems (other than typical stuff.. piston slap, etc.) but expect it to be like any other 10 year old GM car. Fuel pumps start getting weak and can go out anywhere between 80k-200k, etc. Make sure the motor has good compression, the transmission gets into every gear good and the clutch isn't slipping then expect the car to be about as reliable as any other 10 year old small block.
