02' SS Camaro, no high-beams

Hello. Recently started to try and do some maintenance repairs on my '02 SS, and came upon this on the list. First off, when i bought the car used in July of last year, the high-beams worked. After a week of driving it, while driving one day, the key got stuck in the ignition cylinder and would not come back out. So, I had to take out the ignition cylinder and replace it. Luckily, that went fine, and fixed that, but in the process 'something' broke (cannot remember what, but it was a plastic piece, have it lying around somewhere), and after I got everything back together, my high-beams did not work. When I say do not work, I mean, everything else on the multi-function switch works, except the high beams. They no longer 'click'. It will actuate if you pull it forward, but it will not click, and it will not stay in place. It will just merely pull forward, and go back into position when I let it.

I am at a loss as to exactly what I need to replace. Anyone else got a clue? Another post on here led me to this:

Would it be part #23 in the diagram? Thanks!

Mine doesn't work either and I'm about to pull the steering wheel to change the ignition cylinder.

Figured out that it is actually part #21 in the diagram that I am missing. It fell out, and just did not know where it went. It is the high-beam follower. Will dive into that this weekend.

I just installed my new ignition lock today but I still haven't figured out whats wrong with the high beams. I see a rod that the lever pulls to the side but nothing happens when I pull the rod to the side. No click or high beams. Is there a piece that commonly breaks on these? Not sure where to start looking.

I'm just trying to remember what I did with mine...I think I just tightened up a couple of screws where the switch mounts to the column and it corrected my issues...but it's been a while since I have even seen a column.
