'00 Z28, Problem Removing D.S. Door Glass

I recently decided to tackle a window motor replacement on my 2000 Z28. While I had the driver's side door panel off and everything apart, I noticed a pretty large bad spot in the driver's side door glass. It almost looks like something might've melted the glass at some point.

I want to replace the glass, but I can't figure out how to get the glass out of the door. I've got the glass loose from the regulator, but do I have to remove the metal brackets that rivet to the glass in order for it to come out?

Even though the glass is loose and all of the tracks and stops are loose or removed from the door, when I lift the glass up towards the top of the door, it seems like those brackets want to hang on the top of the door.

For anyone else needing help with this, this is what I found out, per the GM service guide and shoebox:

The rivets do have to come out. Drill out the rivets holding the metal brackets to the glass, then after removing the brackets, the glass itself will lift out of the door.

Hammer or a rock works great with removing windows from doors. You may think this is a bad jocke but while I was drilling mine out the glass broke and it came right out. Went to a junk yard picked up two new ones for $75 and with great pleasure used my hammer to brake the other one.

My car sat in the garage for a long time and the whole mechanizim was rusted and locked in place and had to be removed. Easy way and relatively chep fix. LOL!
