When Opti goes...will the motor turn over at all?

Would a bad opti keep the motor from turning over? Like would all electrical fail?

Yes I tested the battery. It's also brand new.

the motor would still be able to turn over.

Scheiss! For the first time I was hoping it was the opti.

I must have a wire grounding out on the frame/body somewhere. Looks like I'll be spending the better part of a weekend hunting that down.

I was actually going to post with the same basic question you posed 6speed, but found this thread and didn't totally noobify myself by posting a new one

Anyway, if sn8ke eatr anyone of you could clarify it a bit...I just got my 95 M6 and two weeks ago, the night i got it, and now today it failed to start. Now, I have electrical and I know this because my lights turn on 100% bright. But, the thing won't turn over. I can get jumped and a couple times the other car didn't even need to be started. It sounds like it should be the battery but I'm still getting power. So, huh?
