What injectors and size to use

Will be using a 355 with LE3 heads and an LE 3.2 cam with long tubes ORY and all the normal other goodies but I wanted to see if I needed 42 lb injectors or 36 lb injectors, I know Lloyd says either will work and there is a possibility of going 383 sometime in the future. Any thoughts? I know many people like the SVO injectors, heck I have a set of 30 lb ones but what brand is best for the price? Where can I get some good ones for a good price. I have seen the green top Ford racing ones on ebay but I have always been weary of buying things there, just don't like to. Thanks for the help. Zach

Up to 500 flywheel HP, a 36 #/HR injector should be fine. Exact limits are dependant to a large extent on the quality of the tune, and how far you want to push the duty cycle on the injectors. If you expect to be over 500 flywheel HP, go for the 42 #/HR injectors. There is no down side to using the 42's on an engine that makes less than 500HP. The stock PCM has proven itself capable of providing a smooth idle with 42s.

You can also look at "increasing" the size of the injector by increasing the fuel pressure. As long as the injectors are capable of operating reliably at higher pressures, there are advantages to running a higher pressure. That's one reason many people prefer a pintle-style injector like the SVO's. They operate fine at high pressures. Common pressure for a fuel system is 58psi (4 bar). At that level, an SVO rated to flow 36 #/Hr at 39.15psi (2.7bar) will flow about 43.8 #/Hr.
