i desperately need a new fuel pump cause the stock one is not priming and droping psi while the engine is at WOT so i was looking at this racetronix site and the got this walbro kit with there wiring harness for about $249.99 msrp but i found on ebay the walbro pump without there kit for about $110.00 does any body know the difference? if installing the cheaper one what modification would i have to do to make it work cause tpiparts.com who sells the cheaper one says that it needs some mods done for it to work. oh and if anyone has any other recommendations for a different pump let me know, thanks.

The racetronix kit is a direct fit and didn't take any mods to make it work. Also the wiring harness helps a lot to boost your system voltage.

I didn't have to do modify anything to get my Walbro in, it was a direct swap for me.

Save yourself the money and skip the harness.

the wire kit alone will get you from say 350rwhp to 450rwhp...they say the stock wiring is that bad!

the only thing the wiring harness does is put a bigger guage wireo n the ground, and raise the voltage going to the pump by 1 volt. To some people it's worth the extra money, for some people it isn't. Since he is obviously on a budget, I'd say not.. and maybe down the road, if he wants it, get it.

again the cheapest prices for the pump is either loonies or www.thunder-racing.com I can't post the website for loonies, since they are not a sponser. Both sites sell the harness, pump, and both of them as a kit.

be weary on the pumps for sale on ebay. Some people do not realize that the fuel pumps are different from the ls1 adn the lt1... and a lot of those ads say "ls1 AND lt1".

well even if I'm on a budget I still want to do it right so getting the kit I believe may better for future applications that are more demanding that I may want to do, and just to be safe cause it a pain to drop the tank. I appreciate the feed back from all. I was also confused about where to get it since the racetronix site was saying to contact a dealer but I couldn't find it on the dealer sites. but ill call up thunder racing thanks.

Another thing to think about is if you dont want to drop the tank you can do the trap door method of installing the pump. I just bought the ractronix pump from harrisspeedworks.com. Havent installed it yet but it looks simple enough.
