Throttle Body
Throttle Body
I'm putting N2O on my car in the near future.....I'm prolly gonna run a plate system and before that I wanted to know how far can I run a stock throttle body before I should upgrade it.....Im asking this since you can either buy a 52mm or 58mm nitrous plate....Its the car in my sig, the most im going to do it put headers on it and a mild cam. I want to run a 150 shot on it, will a stock throttle body do all this or should I upgrade now? Thanks
There is really not much reason to go over 52mm. When we were testing my 381 on the engine dyno, with a 58mm TB, the air flow max'd out with the blades only 77% open. The engine would have made the same 500HP with only a 52mm TB. Unless you are eventually planning more than 500HP, stick with the 52mm.
Appears you have already decided on a "plate". Might want to keep an eye on all 8 plugs when you do that, since the plate can lead to maldistribution of the various components (air, N2O, fuel) in the LT1 intake manifold.
