Starting problems - 89 5.0 RS Manual

I hope this is the right place to post this. If not, mods please move.

I own a 89 RS 5.0 Manual Transmission. It has about 160k miles on it but still purrs like a kitten.... when it starts. Heres the issue: When I go out in the morning to start my car for work it starts right up. If I drive it long enough to get the engine temp to like 200 dgrees then turn off the car it wont restart until it has time to cool down. I can get a jump from another car and it will start but the portable battery chargers dont do the trick. I have been told that it may be the Neutral Safety Switch but havent had it replaced yet. The starter is new. Any help would be greatly apprecieated.

starting problem

You may need to put a heat shield around the starter, the exhaust will cook the starter. A lot of people call it heat soak. The same thing happens to my 89 iroc.

Its a pretty common issue with the third gens. It happened to me with my old third gen and it has happened to my friend with his.
