Problems with car running

i have a 95 z28 recently bought it with blown head gaskets. Had heads redone proted polishihed new springs put all back together car runs fine when u first crank it up except if u stomp the pedal to floor then it cuts off.If u slowly rev it its fine idles good but the hotter the car gets the worse it get quits idling then finally u cant keep it running at all when its gets back cool cranks right up. have replaced fuel pump and coil checked with scanner no codes checked mass air flow and tps all working fine anyone have any ideas. was wondering if opti spark distributer would cause this any help would be apperaciated. thanks Rickey

How did you check for codes? A lot of people see the 95's oddball 16-pin ALDL connector, and assume its an OBD-II PCM, and use an OBD-II scanner. Won't connect because its an OBD-I PCM. If you got past that point:

Have you checked the rubber inlet elbow for a tear, or the bottom edge not being fully on the throttle body?

How did you verify that the MAF sensor is "working fine"?

Have you checked the fuel pressure?

i have a snap-on modus computer used to check all sensors and maf sensor checked fuel pressure had 42lbs when turned key on dropped to 35 lbs idling which is in range but i still replaced the pump. with no change in the way it acts. When I replaced the head gaskets i started to replace the distributer. It has signs of oil around it and know that those distributers have been problems in the past thats what makes me think its the distributer. thanks for any help rickey
