opti-spark internal parts

does anyone know where to get the parts to rebuild a opti, I'm talking about the sensor wheel inside, the part #10475417 is stamped into the wheel but not sure if it would be the correct part number, there's got to be a place to get these parts, it would be great to get the parts to rebuild the unit.

From what I remember the wheel is spot welded onto the drive. Looks like you would have to drill it off then weld new wheel back on. It would have to be aligned within fractions of a degree, not a project for the light at heart or normal DIY'er. You may be able to find one in a bone yard that's not rusted or corroded. My old one was pretty rusty from water, then got oil soaked due to wp seal failure. I thought about changing the wheel, but went to the partsladi (e-bay) instead.

Depends on the year. Unvented have the optical disc spot-welded to the mounting base. Vented uses the rotor screws to sandwich it to the mounting base.

Opti parts

I have disasembled an older opti and the module is made by Mitisitishubi. Perhaps they made the whole unit for G.M. Maybe a place to start looking. Keep us informed. not many working parts inside, the module, optical scanner and seals. Perhaps you could get a parts list together and sell it here. Ted
